The Garden in Late May

Here's our garden in late May, when the weeds haven't overcome the veggies. We have 2 garden areas for vegetables, and these photos include both. Howard inherited his love of gardening from his father.

Above: Asparagus, onions, several rows of green beans, beets, squash, potatoes

Taking a break from hoeing

Lynn's ornamental gourds

The small ornamental gourd vines have not yet started climbing.

Hoeing is lots of work!
Looking at the onions
Our garden across the driveway has corn, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, spinach

Good looking corn this year
lettuce and spinach
Tomatoes and squash

How wonderful! I am so jealous! I thought my 12 x 10 garden was great, but yours puts mine to shame! Happy Eating!

wow - looks more like a farm than a garden, you must be pretty self-sufficient?

Double wow!!! I love to see big gardens like this!!! I had a very very small garden and just couldn't keep the weeds out of it! We decided to plant it in strawberries so this year I've been harvesting lots of them!

Wow, Lynn! Your garden is incredible. It looks like a true labor of love. You guys must get boatloads of delicious veggies every year. I like the way you planted the tomatoes and squash together in the old tires.

Wow, Lynn, what a gorgeous garden. I am so envious!! Fresh veggies from your own garden are absolutely the best. It's like you can taste some of the summer sun in every bite :) It must be a lot of work but well worth it.

I'm so jealous! Sun for a garden was one thing we didn't get with this house. Not that I'd have time with Etsy eating all my time...

Looks like you don't have to shop in the produce section of the grocery store!

Beautiful garden, I'm envious of your earlier season (we had a frost warning last night, but it didn't) and I do have a few things just beginning to sprout. enjoy the summer.
